It is with great sadness that I have to announce that we have lost one of the original founding members of the Medway Magical Society: the wonderful Harry Reeve.

He has been there from the very beginning, and his passion for the Club and magic were endless.

He was a great man; very small in stature, but he made up for with his fierce character and kind ways. He always took the time to go through routines, and loved to critique anyone who cared to ask “What do you think Harry?”.

He was always so passionate about magic, and loved to get involved wherever he could, right up to his last days.

As all good things sadly have to come to an end. It was Friday the 10th of July that Harry Reeve passed away, at the ripe old age of 96.

May you rest in peace. You may no longer be with us, but will always be a part of this society, and will always be in our thoughts.

Harry leaving

The following e-mail was received from Harry's son-in-law notifying the Society of his passing:

Dear Secretary,

I am the Son in Law of Harry Reeve.

It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you that Harry passed away this morning, Friday 10th July.

Harry passed away very peacefully at home after a few days feeling unwell. Harry had been communicating with members of The Magic Circle as late as Tuesday 7th and was still exploring  magic matters up until last week.

Due to the current situation with Covid19 and following the wishes of my Mother in Law, Jean, we will be holding a private funeral with only the immediate family present. Apologies to any members and friends who would have wished to attend.

We are aware that the Society gives an annual award in Harry's name and hope that this may continue in memory of him for as long as the Society feels appropriate.

Harry regaled his family, especially his Grandsons, with many stories of the Medway Magical Society over the years and know that Harry considered his association with the Society to be one of the glories of his life.

We hope for your continued and growing success.

Kindest Regards

Ray Murray
(on behalf of Jean Reeve (wife) Marion Murray (daughter) and other members of the family.
